Committed to Students and Community

Meet Ronalda

I'm Ronalda Tome-Warito, I’m running to be your next APS School Board member for District 2.  I’ve spent my career dedicated to championing quality public education and protecting the rights of students with special needs.

I've worked to advocate for these students and ensure their voices are heard. As a mother of children with special needs, I understand the significance of giving all children a voice and a path to success. My experience has given me invaluable insights into the unique challenges our students with special needs face within the education system, and my passion prepares me to fight for them on the Board of Education.

As an activist who’s been involved in the Yazzie/Martinez v. NM lawsuit, I know firsthand how systemic issues affect our students' access to a quality education. As a school board member with a strong background in special education advocacy,  I’ll be dedicated to ensuring all children have access to learning environments that are inclusive, supportive, and empowering

My name is Ronalda Tome-Warito and I’m the only candidate in this race supported by our teachers, community leaders, and local unions. I’m running to keep the culture war out of our classrooms and shift our focus back to our students. If elected, I’ll be the first Native American to serve on our school board since Albuquerque Public Schools was founded.
